In life, we make commitments all the time. We make commitments to jobs and friends. We make choices and commit to going to a certain college. We commit to having a healthy lifestyle and to crossing off items on our bucket list. We make commitments in marriage and as Christians we commit to follow Christ every single day. Our human life is full of commitments.

However, this isn’t the case for everyone. Some people just can’t commit. For whatever reason they are notorious for changing plans and saying “maybe” instead of giving a definite answer. They don’t stay in one place for long, and they are in and out of relationships whether that be friends or significant others.

So, to my friend who can’t commit, get with it.

We are people. We make mistakes, but we need each other. We need people we can rely on and people need to be able to rely on us. Be someone others can rely on.

Stop being flaky and scared. It’s okay to commit to plans. Its okay to commit to having friends and being in a relationship. That’s part of what life is!

Pick a place and stick around for a while. Get invested with people. Quit running away when things get hard or you get bored. Try it out and I guarantee good things will come in the end.

Lastly, commit to your relationship with God. He is truly the only person in this life you can rely on 100% of the time. He will never fail you. Find Him, and pursue Him every single day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
