As young adults, (or not so young), we constantly are telling ourselves to get out more. Go do this, go do that. I should really start doing this, I should really start doing that. Don't be that "what if" person. We are all totally capable. I told myself these very same things as a teenager and it stayed with me until around my second year of high school. I regret never telling people things I wanted to tell them.
I regret not standing up for myself in certain situations. I regret not putting myself out there more to meet new people and doing so much more in school. We all have personal anxieties. (If you don't, I am super jealous). Don't be that person that says that you wished you could have done something more for yourself and/or for others.
If you have always wanted to be that person who wanted to travel more and be spontaneous with things, then start planning trips for yourself or with friends. I know money factors in to a lot of the things that people want to do these days. Look in to other ways of traveling though. If you don't have a big group of people to split gas with, then look up train tickets. It's an older way of traveling that most of us don't even think about anymore. Not saying it is out dated per say, but we just don't think about that being an option anymore. Take a bus. These ways are reasonably priced and can give you more of a chance to experience something new in life! You can knock out talking to a stranger, going out of your comfort zone, trying something new, and enjoy it all in one sitting.
But let me talk about the people who want to get into being the more active ones...
We all know that one person who constantly talks about how they need to lose weight but never do a single thing about it. All it takes is just a tiny bit of motivation! If you aren't one of those types of people who want to just run on a treadmill or be in a gym full of people, try outdoor exercise. You don't need a building full of equipment to be a healthier person. Try taking a class at a gym like cycling, boxing, or yoga. Do what it would take to get you interested and keep you interested in living the lifestyle you want and see for yourself!
Being better and getting into the swing of these types of things can be hard. We our in routines and tend to keep with them starting at a very early age in life. Wake up, eat, go to school, nap (if you're lucky), eat, go to bed, repeat. Seems like that is really all we are born to do in our lifetime.
What I am getting at here, is if you see yourself being so much better of a person whether it is with school, sports, getting out there, being more out going, etc. don't be afraid to try and accomplish that. Join a club at your school. Try to get into a good internship for your future job. Start working out. Eat better. Travel more. Be adventurous. All of these things can effect our mood for the better in more ways than you could have ever imagined. So stop saying you can't do something, because can't means you don't want to. And I know you want to!!
