If you have a cable or Internet connection you have probably heard of the show "Grey’s Anatomy" at some point or another. If you are an avid Netflix viewer you might have binge watched every season. But I have a confession. Now before I tell you what I am going to say, you have got to promise me that you will not kill me. And if there are any "Grey’s" super-fans around, please do not hunt me down… I have never seen an episode of "Grey’s Anatomy." The only knowledge I have regarding the show is what I can gather from pictures and overhearing my roommate watch it. So here is my comedic attempt at summarizing a few things I know about an award-winning TV show I have never seen.
So to start us off easy, I know for a fact there are a lot of doctors doing doctor things.
If this show is anything like other surgical series, there has to be at least one giant procedure during every episode. Or if you are lucky there will be a two-part episode where something goes wrong during surgery and you have to wait until next episode to see what happens. Oh the drama!
Speaking of those doctors, these doctors are pretty attractive people from what I can gather.
If every doctor looked like this cast I don’t think I would avoid my annual checkups anymore. Also I suddenly feel like I need surgery. Is it the left side or right side where your appendix is located? I should ask a doctor… or maybe I should just ask Patrick Dempsey.
There are a lot of couples.
I feel like workplace relationships are usually frowned upon. But then again, these are some of the hottest surgeons all placed in one hospital, so who can really blame them for mingling between surgeries?
The writers for this show really like breaking your heart.
From what I can gather, they kill off a good number of characters. If the 140-character limit on Twitter can tell us anything, it is that "Grey’s Anatomy" viewers can fit a lot of emotions into such a small number of characters.
“She’s my person” originated here.
This is a quote every best friend lives by. There is no better way to sum up the way you and your best friend feel about each other. So shout out to "Grey’s" for giving the Internet a phrase to hold onto forever.
Last but not least, Taylor Swift named her cat after a character from "Grey’s."
This is Meredith. She has more fans than I ever will. And if the queen of pop is a hardcore "Grey’s" fan maybe I should start watching this show. I am currently on spring break, so the Netflix possibilities are endless. I’ll keep you updated on just how long it takes me to become a "Grey’s Anatomy" addict.
