20-Week Abortion Ban Fails While The Genocide Continues

20-Week Abortion Ban Fails While The Genocide Continues

On January 11, 2018, Switzerland banned boiling lobsters alive in case they can feel pain.

Today, January 30, 2018, I woke up to the headline, “20-Week Abortion Ban Fails To Advance In The Senate.”

I cried for roughly 10-15 minutes, scrolling through disgustingly biased news articles about the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, made my bed, and headed off to my 8 am, mentally mourning the 120 lives that would be aborted during that one hour alone, in America alone.

I am heartbroken at what appears to be the fact that Switzerland values lobsters more than America values children.

I had been reading about and keeping up with the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act for several weeks, perhaps months at this point, and with Republicans in control of the both the House and the Senate, I was so sure it was going to pass. I truly thought we were about to be one step closer to abolishing the great evil that is abortion.

Between Cecile Richards stepping down as president of Planned Parenthood on January 24 and looking forward to the passing of this bill, I was experiencing a pro life high this past week.

This all came crashing down today as I realized 46 senators had the heart, or lack thereof, to vote AGAINST protecting precious preborn children from abortion. Not only did they vote against protecting them, they voted FOR dismembering and poisoning them to death. They voted in favor of this violence.

Which doesn’t even make any sense to me since a recent poll done by The Knights of Columbus found that 76%, that’s right, SEVENTY SIX PERCENT OF AMERICANS support limiting abortions to the first trimester of pregnancy.

Why a ban at 20 weeks you ask? Please let me tell you why. At around 6-7 weeks old, a baby’s nervous system starts developing. By week 20, or month 5, the baby is fully and completely capable of feeling pain. That is why a moral debate has come into the picture: should we kill the fetus if it can feel it happening?

The bill states, “After 20 weeks, the unborn child reacts to stimuli that would be recognized as painful if applied to an adult human, for example, by recoiling.”

Due to the sensitivity of the unborn child at this stage of pregnancy, anesthesia is given to women undergoing in-utero surgery to prevent hurting the baby.

Scientific proof on top of scientific proof that a baby at this stage of gestation can feel and experience pain.

But my question remains the same: should abortion be legal at all since scientifically, life begins at the moment of conception?

I think not. Abortion is nothing short of murder. It’s intentionally ending a life.

Matt Walsh said it best on Twitter:

“Rather than saying you oppose the 20 week abortion ban, just speak the plain truth: you’re in favor of tearing apart a 5-month-old baby limb from limb with a metal clamp. That is literally how an abortion is performed at 5 months. So be honest about it, you gutless cowards.”

I am completely baffled by my country.

If you were against this bill due to your fear of being criminalized as the receiver of the abortion, fear not, the bill clearly stated that the person PERFORMING or attempting to perform the abortion would be fined, jailed for up to five years, or both, with NO punishment or criminalization given whatsoever to the receiver.

If you were against this bill due to your fear and/or concern regarding incest and rape, fear not, the bill explicitly stated that exceptions would be made for incest, rape, and the life of the mother.

Oh and by the way, rape and incest combined make up no more than 1% of all abortions.

I can’t understand what else there is that would hold you back or keep you from wanting to abolish the murder of unborn children in the United States of America, at least past 20 weeks old. At least once the baby can feel it. Every single base was covered within this bill.

Abortion is cruelty, abortion is murder, and abortion is certainly NOT healthcare. Believing it is okay or turning a blind eye makes you almost as harmful as the doctor with the forceps in his hands.

Since Roe V. Wade in 1973, roughly 58 MILLION abortions have been performed. One third of my generation is missing and I’m not happy about it. Abortion is genocide and it’s unacceptable.

Choose life. I’m begging you. Let your voice be heard. Email your senators and congressmen. March for life. Speak the truth about the evils of abortion, Planned Parenthood, and the aggressive dehumanization of the unborn child.

This nation was founded on LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and abortion gives no one involved any of these beautiful, wonderful things.

Life is literally priceless. How cruel do you have to be to take it away from someone else?

“It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish.”

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
