A Reminder of Your Worth

Dear soul who stumbled upon this page,

Do you know of your light?

Do you know that just by walking into a room, your presence is a blessing to all those around you?

Do you know that just by breathing, you are giving such a gift to this world?

Just by being alive, you are doing this world an immense favor.

Just by existing, you are benefiting humanity.

So…

how are you doing right now?

How did reading those words affect you?

Did they cause some resistance in you?

If so, perhaps you have forgotten your worth, or need a reminder that you have so much worth.

Let this article be a reminder of your immeasurable worth.

When did you forget your undeniable worth?

Was it as a child, when people might have conditioned you into believing the lie that you're not enough as your authentic, beautiful self?

Was it as a teenager, when the social pressure of fitting in and being accepted trumped your need to honor yourself?

Or could it be now, as you try to fit in this world and adapt to the rush of adult life, trying to find a center as your worries pull you away from your sense of worth?

This lack of worth you might be feeling right now has been a culmination of conditioning that you've developed through living this human experience.

I know you didn't consciously ask for this unhealthy conditioning.

Instead, you are asking to consciously unlearn what you learned as a child: unlearning the idea that you don't have worth.

The fact that you clicked on this article is evidence that you are willing to take the steps to unlearning this conditioning.

So, now to the purpose of this article:

a reminder of your worth.

You (yes, you) are incredibly worthy beyond measure.

Nothing you do, nothing you say, nothing that you are will change the fact that you have worth and are worthy of happiness.

For your worth was given to you when you were born.

And nothing can take that away.

Nothing.

Your worth came to you with your breath, and will stay with you throughout this lifetime as you breathe, exist, and walk this life on this Earth.

It will never leave you.

Even if you don't believe you have it, it is still there.

For every living being in this universe has worth.

Including you…

especially you.

Don't you see it?

Don't you see that you are deserving of all the beautiful, fulfilling things life has to offer?

Don't you know that you deserve it all?

Because: you are alive.

You deserve every bit of all that your heart truly desires, and you are worthy of receiving every bit of it all.

You have worth, I promise you.

It is attached to your soul and can never be stripped away. No mistake, no decision, no ounce of self-hate, can ever strip you away of your worth which is innate, just like your existence is innate.

Please believe me.

Please believe in yourself.

It's time to acknowledge the worth you've forgotten along this life path.

It's time to understand that you are worthy beyond measure, and that your worth can never be measured against other people's worth, because your worth is something that isn't more or less than any other person's worth.

It's time you understand.

It's time you unlearn beliefs that are no longer serving you.

It's time for you to remember your worth.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
