There are so many things to love about Missouri State University. From our beautiful campus to exhilarating sporting events, from our dedicated staff to every single member of our student body, the bond we all share is so evident that it's clear how much pride we have for being Bears ( Bear UP! ).

With that being said, one of the greatest lessons we have learned the most as MSU students throughout our college careers is that not everything is always going to be perfect, thus there's always room for improvement. And believe me Missouri State, take it from us, your area of improvement is definitely the parking lot and here's why.

Here's the scenario: A student is on their way to their 9:30 am class. It takes them about 20 minutes to get to campus. On their journey to campus, they have to dodge all sorts of traffic due to other morning commuters on their way to work. But traffic is not their only obstacle. Weather conditions come into play. Rain, sleet, or snow, as long as our campus is open and classes are in session, commuters try their absolute best to get to school both safely and efficiently in time for class.

The student finally enters the front gate of campus, makes a right or left to park in one of our parking lots on campus, until they find themselves in a whirlwind of racing behind other cars, desperately searching for a parking space before class starts. Come to their not-so-surprise, there are no parking spaces available.

15 minutes go by and you notice a student walking to their car. You stalk them all the way to their parking space, releasing the greatest sigh of relief, you put your blinker on to prepare to park. Until you discover the student isn't actually leaving.

Another 15 minutes go by until you notice another student walking to their car. Believe it or not, the student is actually leaving campus. The last song on the album that you started when you got in the car that morning in playing when you're whipping the car into the sacred coveted spot by all who are you are now half an hour late to class because of the parking lot.

So here is my plea, not just from the voice of one student, but from the entire student body. PLEASE FIX THE PARKING SITUATION. I think it's about due that the money that we put towards tuition goes towards not just something that we need, but what the university desperately needs.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
