I.
When I first felt your fingers tug at my heartstrings,
They wrote a song from my feelings,
Each wordless melody a brimming wellspring,
Of all the things neither of us imagined speaking.
II.
Soft-spoken words to lull you to sleep,
Gentle kisses to remember in your dreams,
Warm hands to hold you in nightmares,
And a promise for when I am not there.
III.
Even when my bones into dust disappear,
And my hairlines bird's nests in winter,
No matter how far my atoms/being may scatter,
You have my heart/stories to hold onto forever.
