Learning to embrace future changes through poetry
Walking down the streets
all the faces begin to blur,
as I keep making each turn,
leading me to believe that I know what I'm doing.
Noises fills the air,
with millions of voices talking,
with millions more trying to find places to hide,
yet, here I am trying to find the door
that I saw once before.
Traffic is going only one way on this sidewalk,
as I find myself pushing against it,
as if I were a paper kite trying to break loose,
and go my own way.
A church bell rings loudly,
a train's whistle blares dramatically,
all I can do is keep walking the way I'm going,
and see where it leads me.
Up ahead is a bridge that seems to have been waiting for me
and a few others to cross it,
welcoming us to the paths that have opened up at last,
all we have to do is take one step,
then it will do the rest.
The string that is attached to me
has begun to twirl rapidly,
excited for what is pass the bridge,
excited for the change that is about to begin.
