John Mayer's Alternative style, infused with hints of jazz and blues, is enough to get you through an entire day. Whether you're head over heels in love, in a relationships that's a little "complicated", or living the single life, there's a Mayer song to help you through it. Below is a list of my top 10 songs for each of the following moods.

In Love:

Sometimes, love sucks, and other times, love rocks. Mayer expresses his experiences with love in an extremely relatable fashion. With songs dating back to 1999, not only has he become more wise in the field of love, but he has changed his prospective a few times which are all reflected through his music here.

It's Complicated:

Since Mayer never married, it would be a pretty logical assumption that he has had his fill of complicated relationships. I mean, haven't we all? Expressed through these songs are feelings of confusion, doubt, and desire to convey what it truly feels like to be in a relationship that may not even be a relationship at all.

Most of these songs are about distrust and failed love but a lot of them have hints of hope in them as well. The stormy days are tough to weather but there are only rainbows after it rains.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
