My dog maybe 12 years old, but she is young at heart. Her greetings consist of kisses. She constantly seeks attention and just wants to be loved. She is definitely a goofball who wants to be laughed at. Spinal twists are always her go-to move. Cuddling is a daily affair and half the time she ends up in my lap.

She is the perfect family member who keeps all members in check. Her job is to keep everyone on her schedule. Makes sure everyone knows what time she gets fed. Maintains our exercise with her daily walk. She also enjoys car rides whether it just to the corner store or a road trip.

Over the years she has had many health challenges. Both ACLs have plates and screws. Many lumpectomies have been performed. A herniated disc caused tremendous pain. For every health problem she has endured she has made tremendous comebacks.

These days my dog looks older, but she still is her crazy lovable self. Nowadays she voices her concerns more and wants to remind everyone of her existence. She is 75 pounds of joy that I have to lift in and out of the car now when we go on car rides. There is a slight hesitation going upstairs and on occasion, she gives me the I need help look. She knows her limits and I respect her for that.

She does quite while for a 12-year-old Labrador. Now that my dog is a senior I find myself closely caring for her needs whether she likes it or not. She has been a loyal and devoted member of my family for the past 12 years and I know she has a few more left in her. My job is to ensure that she is well cared for and is as comfortable as she can be. I value all the lessons she has taught me over the years and will continue to teach me. Cannot help but admire our strong companionship and love.
