The decade of the 90's brought us some of the best in rom-com's, tear-jerkers, and high school sagas full of angst. And when finals are said and done, you should reward yourself with a solid all-day marathon.
Here's a breakdown of the best films from our fave decade that will give you something to look forward to when you put the pen down and shut your brain off:
"Clueless"
“Ugh, as if!,” “OMG I'm totally buggin,'” AKA how I feel about finals week. "Clueless" is the perfect movie to reward yourself with after your brain has turned to mush.
"10 Things I Hate About You"
Heath Ledger singing “Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You” on the bleachers of the high school football stadium pretty much sums up why this is one of the best. Add witty one-liners and stellar casting, this adaption to Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew " is always a good idea.
"Toy Story"
We've all slept with one eye open when first seeing “Toy Story,” just to make sure our toys were in fact, toys. An animated franchise that actually got better with each movie, this 90's film brings out the kid in all of us, which is necessary after weeks of straight stressin'.
"Mrs. Doubtfire"
Robin Williams portrayed our favorite nanny we've never had. It's also the only movie that's on TV 24/7 that doesn't get switched off immediately.
"The Sandlot"
“You're killin' me, Smalls!” Enough said.
"She's All That"
Not necessarily up there with “10 Things I Hate About You” and “Clueless,” but a 90's staple nonetheless. It's a teenage clichéd comedy at its finest, plus it gave us Freddie Prinze Jr. in his prime time.
1990's films are cheesy in the best way possible that makes us wish time machines existed. When you're done with finals, start summer off right with a movie marathon that's a blast from the past.
