Let's be real, 2017 kind of sucked. In 2018 we are going to love ourselves and love each other, okay? Here's how!
1) Pamper yourself like you’ve never been pampered before.
Buy some face masks, take a bubble bath, light your candles, and drown yourself in essential oils. Life gets crazy sometimes and it’s easy to forget to take care of yourself.
2) Call your friends and call them often.
Make time for the people who make life worth living. Complain about your problems, celebrate your victories, or just send them the funny tweet you saw on your timeline.
3) Stop hate watching.
Turn off that reality show that makes you lose hope in the world. Unfollow your ex and stop talking about their most recent post. Take a break from reading what your Facebook friends have to say about our current President.
4) Do something that makes you feel young again.
Babysit your cousins or volunteer at with a youth group. It’s easy to forget that you used to love playing with dolls and drawing with chalk and it’s even easier to forget how good those things made you feel.
5) Buy some plants.
I saw this blog post once that said having plants around your house can improve your life both mentally and physically. I don’t really know how it works, but I feel like its worth a shot.
6) Listen to more music.
Everyone likes music. Put some on when you’re cleaning, driving, falling asleep, eating, whenever.
7) Stop putting up with things that you don’t need to put up with.
Don’t randomly quit your job because it’s stressing you out. But if you like really…really…really hate your job, then it’s okay to find a new one. Fill your daily routine with things that make you feel like the best version of yourself.
8) Make some lists.
Right down things that you love and things that you love about yourself. Make lists of things that you want to accomplish, no matter how big or small they may seem.
9) Allow yourself to make mistakes.
2018 isn’t going to be perfect. It doesn’t matter if you do everything on this list, your year still isn’t going to be perfect. Laugh at the downfalls and remind yourself that nothing can be worse than 2017.
