9 Times You Wanted to Drop Out of College

College is hard. Teachers expect a lot from you, naps become a real thing, and you are broke literally all the time. There have been many times during my college career that I have told myself "I can be a garbage collector. It really is okay." Yet we've persevered. Here are 9 times that we have all deeply considered dropping out of college.

1. When you thought you aced that test but really made a casual 40-something.

You pulled an all nighter and drank a disturbing amount of coffee. You were sure you knew the material. What happened?? No one will ever know. It's called a college miracle. It's like a Christmas miracle but bad.

2. That time you had to be lab partners with the guy you met in the bar the first week of school.

Honestly this is no one's fault but your own. Note to self: do not meet guys in bars.

3. When you went to buy Chik-fil-A and your card was declined.

All you wanted was lunch. That's all. Alas, you are a college student and you have no money because you now live on your own and spend too much money on alcohol and costumes for parties.

4. When the midterm AND final are cumulative.

Your professor hates you. That's all there is to it.

5. When you have a mid-year crisis and realize you hate your major and may end up living on the streets.

It is official. You have no future ahead of you. But it's okay because this happens to everyone. Change your major a few times, get your life together, and it will all work out. At least that's what I'm doing.

6. When your friends all go out but you have to study for a test you already know are going to fail.

At least when you fail the test you can tell your parents that you didn't succumb to peer pressure and that you really are trying. Sometimes.

7. That one time you tripped walking to class and dropped everything everywhere.

Don't mind me, I am just casually hating my life.

8. Every single time you decide to wait until the day before a paper is due to actually consider writing it.

I should have learned my lesson by now, yet it happens every time. This never helps anything except my level of tiredness and crankiness.

9. When you email your professor to ask what you can do to get an "A" and he says, "nothing."

Oh beautiful. If you would give me one point I would have a 4.0 GPA. Too bad you do not care and would rather see me suffer. And here I thought we were getting along.

Just remember that you are not alone. Every college student everywhere ever has experienced these things, and has accepted them as a learning experience. You will make it out of here alive, and you will get a job and be okay. Don't take my word for it, I mean I'm in the same position as you, but I will be here cheering you on!

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
