For those keeping track of the countdown to the end of the fall semester, we are two weeks of classes left not counting final exams or thanksgiving break. This time of year can be the most exciting time as we reach the end of a semester and the holidays coming up; it is also a stressful time because we are nearing the end of the semester. So here are nine thoughts every college has when nearing the end of the fall semester.

1. How is it already November?

One moment it's September and you are starting a new semester, then the next thing you know it's November. How has an entire semester already went by so quickly and how can we make it slow down?

2. This semester is almost over!

Although there is some confusion and excitement about the semester coming to an end but it also stressful because of how fast time seems to go as the semester's pass. As a friend told me last year at this time when I thought it was going slow. "It only gets faster from here on out."

3. So many papers and projects!

With so many papers and projects to do at this time of year it can be hectic, sometimes you may even question if you are doing right.

4. Procrastination is real.

This may or may not be the second time that these articles have been due on Thursday being done two days later. Sometimes you just don't feel like doing work.

5. Can it be winter break yet?

We all need a break from classes and a break from the routine that is college. It's a time to relax and to see our family and friend back home.

6. How am I suppose to dress for this weather?

This honestly goes for any time of the year in North Carolina but it gets worse in the winter, one day you're wearing shorts and the next day you are wearing three layers of clothes.

7. Thanksgiving Break!

Thanksgiving break is wonderful and all, but it really is just a tease to winter break. You get a couple of days off and just want to stay at home. But then you go back to school and still have final exams.

8. Can I have a home cooked meal yet?

After spending weeks eating from the café and mac n' cheese cups it's really amazing to have a home cooked meal. Not to mention the fact that it's the holiday season which gives you an excuse to eat even more.

9. It's almost Christmas!

As I write this article there are 41 days until Christmas, which happens to be my favorite holiday!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
