Are you from Ohio? Chances are, you know of Cedar Point and probably plan on going this summer. But while you are there enjoying the rides and food, check out these attractions!
1. Ride the New Dive Coaster: The Valravn
New to Cedar Point this year, Valravn is the world's tallest, fastest, longest dive coaster! And if you are like me and have no idea what a dive coaster is, I googled it for you in advance. It is a coaster with a drop of 90-degrees or more where the riders are facing down and "configuration of the trains" enhances the ride.
2. Visit the Town Hall Museum
If you are into museums, history, and/or antiques, the Town Hall Museum is the place for you! Located in the back of the park (in Frontier Town), the museum features memorabilia from Cedar Point's past. There are models of past attractions, and photos from over the last 100 years.
3. Watch the live entertainment
Growing up, I saw many theme and amusement park live entertainment shows– my sister was and still is a dancer for these shows. As break between coaster rides and food, find your way to the live entertainment. Better yet, wait till 9:30pm and watch Luminosity: Ignite the Night. It is always very entertaining and a great way to end your day at Cedar Point! (Luminosity, however, does not start till early June.)
4. Top Thrill Dragster
Although it is a short ride of only 17 seconds, the Top Thrill Dragster reaches 120 MPH in less than 4 seconds creating a thrill you will never forget.
5. Millennium Force
The Millennium Force is a crowd favorite. It reaches 310 feet and 93 MPH. When it was created in 2000, it broke several world records including, but not limited to, tallest roller coaster, fastest roller coaster, and the longest drop on a roller coaster. This roller coaster will have you ready to go back for more.6. Soak City
Cedar Point's very own water park. It is perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. It is family friendly with many attractions for both adults and kids to enjoy. You will leave Soak City with wet hair and a big smile after all the fun and excitement of the day. (Soak City is an extra fee.)
7. Slingshot
Slingshot is a two-person attraction where you and a friend will get launched 360 feet in the air. This attraction offers slight moments of weightlessness as you bounce up and down until it comes to a rest. (Slingshot also has an additional charge, but hey, it's worth it!)
8. RipCord
Have you ever wanted to Fly? Like a bird that is? Yes! Well RipCord is the attraction for you! With up to two other people, you will be taken up to the top of the 15-story launch tower. One of you will pull the rip cord and will then drop swooping within 6 feet of the ground at up to 65 MPH. You are basically flying! (This attraction is also available with an additional charge.)
9. Visit Toft's Ice Cream Parlor
There is one located in CP, or you can take a short drive to the parlor also located in Sandusky. WARNING. This will be the best ice cream you will ever have and it is highly addictive! One bite and you will be crawling (more like rolling) back for more! Made locally, Toft's is a hometown favorite and will never disappoint! #supportlocal (When choosing your size, be mindful, the cup is not as small as it appears!)
You will enjoy a nice, long slumber after all of the fun and excitement you had at CP!
