9 Struggles Of Coming Home for Winter Break As Told By A College Student

1. Car sharing

It's every high schools sister worst nightmare having their college bound sister come home for the holidays. Its always a fight to the death as to who's plans are more important. May the odds ever be in your favor college sister.

2. Spending Money

You come home for the holidays and end up having to craft for all your yankee swap gifts because you blew all your money on that EDM concert with your college gal pals. And, when you come back to your boring town you realize that anything fun requires money. You realize you will sell your sole for just a penny to get you by these next few weeks.

3. Friends

Isn't it so odd having to adjust friend groups coming back for break. It is so weird coming back home and feeling like you live two separate lives. You want to recall a story of your college night out but remember that no one at home was there. Weird.

4. To-Do List

When your at college you always have that feeling like there is something you should be doing or a project that you know you should start working on. Your become to go insane with all of your free time off because sleeping in just doesn't feel right.

5. Holiday Decorating

You finally come home and realize that you have missed all of your holiday traditions that you thrived on during your childhood. Not like you wanted to decorate the tree anyways..?

6. Clothes

When packing to go home you have absolutely no idea what clothes to bring home. Do you bring that hot dress in case you meet the love of your life over break? Do you bring going out clothes or just lounge attire? You realize that you have litterly taken home your entire closet and you know that at the end of the vacation you are not going to have worn any of it.

7. Sleeping arrangement

Well your room was turned into an office after you left freshman year so now you have to sleep in your basement on the pull out couch hearing the pipes make noises all night. Its ok though because you hated your king bed anyways that your sister now has. Doesn't bother you at all.

8. Ultimate boredom.

Your parents are both at work and your siblings are still in school so you guess you will just sit home all day and watch Scandal all day long. Eventually, you start talking to your pets your so deprived of company.

9. Exercise

You got rid of your gym membership when you left for college in the summer so you are returning home to no form of weights or cardio machines. Running in a foot of snow is basically your only option. Great. Just as you were on a role going to your elite gym at your school.

Well, we all know it is quite the adjustment coming home for the holidays, but remember, semester 2 syllabus week comes closer than you think. Hang in there.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
