9 Stages Of Unpacking

The debate continues on which is worse; packing or unpacking.

You just tripped over the suitcase in your room for the thousandth time, since it is just sitting there waiting to be unpacked from the trip you took three weeks ago. Naturally, you push it to the side where it is less of a safety hazard and tell yourself, for the thousandth time, that you will deal with it later.

Don't feel bad, we've all been there.

1. Leave Your Luggage By The Door

You already had to carry it in from the car, you seriously can't be expected to bring it all the way to your room too. It will definitely stay there overnight because you probably have some Netflix to catch up on.

2. Finally Bring It To Your Room

But it's time for a snack break after that strenuous exercise of climbing the stairs while awkwardly handling luggage.

3. Open Your Suitcase(s)

Stare at the contents of each bag and ask yourself how the heck you managed to fit everything in there.

4. Find A Reason To Put It Off

"Hmmm I wonder how much gas is left in my car...."

5. Come Back To See That It's All Still There

Unfortunately, your fairy godmother mom did not come in clutch this time.

6. Remove Items On An As-Needed Basis

You're an efficient person, obviously, so your only option is to live out of your suitcase until everything has been used...right?

7. Put Away The Easy Stuff

Sure, I can relocate my shoes from my suitcase to the floor. No problem.

8. Ask For Help

There will be snacks provided, you in?

9. Get The Job Done

Another week has passed and you've really only moved certain items from the suitcase to the laundry bin. It's time for the hard part, but you can do it.

I know it's basically the worst but once you finally finish, you will feel so accomplished. At least I think you would. I can't tell you that for sure because I still haven't done it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
