The 9 Stages Of Getting Engaged

Getting engaged is one of the most exciting times in your life! But sometimes it can definitely feel like an emotional rollercoaster. From talking about marriage for the first time to questioning if he’s ever going to ask, your emotions will be all over the place. But that moment that he gets down on his knee will make it all worth it!

1. You know you want to marry this person. But how do you breach the topic?

What if they think you’re crazy? What if they don’t feel the same way? What if they storm out and never talk to you again?!

2. Phew, they DO feel the same way! Yes!

Well, that’s a relief! Turns out they want to marry you, too! It feels so good to know that your significant other shares your feelings.

3. Then comes the waiting.

You can’t ask too many questions, but you’re dying to know! When will he ask? How will he ask?! Waiting for the right time can be the hardest part. Sometimes it’s weeks, sometimes it’s years; no matter what, it feels like forever!

4. Finally, you know it’s getting close.

Maybe you started looking at rings, or maybe he or one of your friends starting hinting about it, but you can just feel the moment getting close!

5. Every date you go on you feel like it could be the moment.

Oh you want to take me to a nice restaurant? You want to go for a walk in the park? You want to watch some fireworks? I see you.

6. But then every time, he doesn’t ask.

That’s fine. It’s totally fine! Whatever, I can wait.

7. But then it happens! THE MOMENT.

IT’S HAPPENING.

8. He gets down on his knee and asks you to marry him!

IS THIS REAL LIFE?! YAS.

9. This could be the best day of your life so far.

The proposal, which you probably dreamed about and anticipated for so long, was perfect!

Enjoy it while you can, girl! This is the exciting part! Try not to think too much about the upcoming wedding. After this you’ll be swamped by wedding plans and seating charts and flower choices. Just remember to breathe and enjoy the little things. And above all, prioritize your relationship with your new fiancé! Stressful times can cause arguments and divisions. Don’t let that happen! It helps to have wedding-free dates and also blocks of time dedicated specifically to wedding planning so that it doesn’t take over your lives. Your wedding is one day of your life, but your partner is forever. You can get through this together! Enjoy every second of your engagement.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
