If you haven't noticed, the Internet has been obsessed with pugs lately. And let's be honest: who isn't?! Pugs are super-cute and their sassy attitudes give them enough star power to deserve their own music video...or nine!
Here are nine music videos that should feature pugs.
1. All About That Bass — Meghan Trainor
Alright, I'll admit it. I got the idea for this article when I was listening to "All About That Bass" with my friends, and my one friend said, "Imagine an 'All About That Bass' video with a bunch of fat pugs running around. You're imagining it, aren't you?" So yeah, I guess this one is all thanks to Andrew. Don't believe me? I tweeted about it and you can see the tweet here. Anyway, I stand by my friend's suggestion: Meghan Trainor's body positive anthem just demands these cutie-patooties.
2. Girls Just Want To Have Fun — Cyndi Lauper
Okay, yes we would have to change the title of the song to something more fitting like "Pugs Just Want To Have Fun." But this would be the cutest music video ever, right? Just imagine a dog park filled with pugs just running around having a grand time! Who doesn't want to watch over four minutes of that much cuteness?! It would probably look something a lot like this:
3. California Gurls — Katy Perry Ft. Snoop Dogg
Okay, maybe this song made the list because the actual music video is ... unique. But, just imagine pugs lounging at the beach, happily licking at delicious dog-friendly treats, trotting around and enjoying themselves! Or it could just be a montage of pugs strutting their stuff while their humans try to comprehend how truly amazing they are. If you wanted to keep it closer, the pugs could all be dressed like this lil' guy.
4. Style – Taylor Swift
Well, this one might be a stretch. But just image pugs in glamorous get-ups strutting around the town, meeting up with each other. While I'm not usually for costumes on animals, this could potentially be a cute opportunity for those who do support animal costumes to have some fun.
5. Uptown Funk — Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
So, the real music video is basically just Bruno Mars and some spiffy men dancing and looking at women while jamming out, so who says that pugs can't be this awesome?! I don't think that this is that hard of a sell.
6. Stay With Me – Sam Smith
Okay, we might have to re-imagine the meaning of this video to make it work. I could see a good video for this song basically just being a bunch of pugs not wanting their humans to get out of bed. That's pretty relatable! I mean, who likes getting out of bed in the morning? Not me!
7. Who Let The Dogs Out — Baha Men
Do I really even need to explain myself with this one? Obviously the dogs that were let out were a bunch of happy lil' pugs, and they're going to go inflict a reign of adorableness on the world. Even though I didn't even need to argue for this, surely you're convinced. And if you didn't need convincing, you're welcome to getting this song back into your head.
8. Walking On Sunshine — Katrina & The Waves
You can't help but love this song. It's so catchy and upbeat — it's basically the perfect summer anthem, every summer, all summer long! So how could this song get any better? You guessed it: pugs. Just imagine a group of pugs running around in the sunshine, maybe at the beach, just having a wonderful time! There's no better way to spend an afternoon, especially if you're a pug or pug's human.
9. Dancing Queen – ABBA
Okay, this last one is almost purely influenced by my love of ABBA. This song is my go-to feel better song because I AM a dancing queen, even if I'm no longer "young and sweet, only 17." Pugs would also love to be in this music video, because they would get to dance around and have a good time!
So, if nothing more, you've at least gotten to listen to nine awesome songs and got to look at some cute pug pictures. But seriously, can we get some pugs into music videos? Please???
