Finals are a rough time, but the best way to get through them is with new music. I hope you enjoy these songs — they're my new favorites.
1. "Fast Car-Radio Edit" by Jonas Blue
My sister showed me this song, and I immediately found a Youtube video of it on loop for an hour and listened to it for about three days straight. It's so catchy and fun to sing to, and I can't wait to play this song driving around at night in my car. I included the one-hour video — you're welcome.
2. "Bored to Death" by Blink-182
This is Blink-182's newest song. If you're already a fan, you'll see that this song is definitely different from what they usually put out. It's not a hit, but it's fun study music that might make you feel a little middle-school-emo-hardcore.
3. "Freedom" by Beyonce feat. Kendrick Lamar
This is my second favorite song on her new album (after "Don't Hurt Yourself"), and it has been pushing me through these final days. All I have to do is finish these tests and papers, and then.... FREEDOM! Since the album is available on Tidal and iTunes only right now, I've attached a video of a performance of the song by someone else, but give the real song a listen! My new favorite lyric: "Imma keep running cuz a winner don't quit on themselves."
4. "One Dance" by Drake feat. Whisked & Kyla
Drake's newest song features a fun rhythm, even if it sounds fairly similar to a lot of his other songs. The voices of the featured artists are pretty mesmerizing.
5. "Youth" by Troye Sivan
This song makes me want to spin around in a circle with my arms out wide. Or take a road trip. Or jump on a trampoline. Maybe all three? If you're feeling old or melancholic, take a listen to this song.
6. "Runaway (U & I)" by Galantis
Although this song isn't really new, it has been climbing the pop charts lately and has become huge in the United States. It's a great song to dance to, especially if your favorite form of dancing includes jumping up and down.
7. "The Sound" by The 1975
This is one of the catchiest rock-pop songs I've heard in a while. The lyrics are a little cheeky, and once you've heard it, like me, you probably won't be able to stop listening to it until you've memorized all the lyrics. Don't worry, it took me only a day and a half.
8. "LIKE I WOULD" by ZAYN
If you've had enough of "Pillowtalk" but still want to listen to some Zayn, check out this other song of his. It's still sultry and dark like "Pillowtalk" but a little dancier, and you can actually understand most of what he's saying in this one.
9. "Desperado" by Rihanna
My favorite song off Rihanna's new album "(Anti)," "Desperado" makes you feel like you could walk into any room and take control. It also makes me add Rihanna to my list of "People I'd Want On My Side In a Fight," mostly because this song makes me simultaneously scared and in awe of her.
I hope everyone aces their finals thanks to this playlist! Hopefully, these songs correlate with good grades since they're the songs I listened to when studying!
