At heart, I am a huge romantic. I love sappy romantic movies and I love hearing about great, supportive real-life relationships. I am such a romantic that I literally cried at that Extra gum commercial about drawings on the wrappers. Tears were actually streaming down my face because I found it so adorable.
However, just because I am big on romance, doesn't mean romance, relationships, or love are big on me. So here is a list of songs for other people who are also bad at love, but love it anyway.
1. "Bad at Love" by Halsey
You know I had to start with this song, right? It matches perfectly with the whole theme of this article. Plus, it covers multiple relationship types and ideas which eventually lead to failure. Not to mention it's hella catchy.
2. "I Could Use a Love Song" by Maren Morris
This one is for those people who feel jaded and bitter about love, but don't really want to. It's for those of us who want to keep feeling sappy and happy about love even after countless disasters so we keep listening to love songs even if they don't remind us of anyone or anything. But we want it to.
3. "Other Man" by Jimi Charles Moody
Ugh, his voice is so beautiful first of all. Secondly, this ones for all of those people who are still hung up on an ex who has moved on. The ones who want to see their exes happy, but just kind of wish said exes were happy with them.
4. "Let It Go" by James Bay
If you know you have to let go of a relationship, but you're both struggling to move on, this will be your incredibly moody jam. It's also great for those people who have just fallen out of love and feel the need to find themselves again outside of their relationships.
5. "It Don't Hurt Like It Used To" by Billy Currington
If you have yet to give Billy Currington a listen, you have been missing out. It may be country, but this is an absolutely beautiful song and a Mood. It's the song you will find yourself playing over and over again as you slowly realize that yes, you are indeed recovering from whatever heartache you have been facing.
6. "I Never Told You" by Colbie Caillat
Not only a throwback but the perfect song for regrets. This is the song for people who tend to run away from relationships just as they begin to get real.
7. "Stay" by Sugarland
For some reason, country music has a lot of songs for people who are bad at love. This song is something else though. And the music video? It's unadulterated pain. If you are the person on the side, the person who finds themselves wanting more out of a relationship, who truly loves a person in a committed relationship, who knows it is wrong, but can't stay away, this song will resonate with you. Even if you're not, this song will still stay with you.
8. "i hate u, i love u" by gnash, feat. Olivia O'Brien
Have you ever been confused about your place in someone's life? Whether they care for you or not? gnash has got you covered.
9. "Almost" by Bowling for Soup
Filled with possibilities that never get seen through? Same. Here's to all of the things that could have been but instead fell flat courtesy of the late 2000s.
For all of my romantics, for all of us who just can't seem to get it right, these songs have got you covered, no matter which way you're bad at love.
