9 Signs You Are A Harry Potter Nerd

It's not difficult to get lost in the world of Harry Potter. It is, however, extremely difficult to pull yourself out.

The seven Harry Potter books, written by J. K. Rowling, have sold approximately 400 million copies worldwide. The eight movies brought in an average of $965,894,597 to the box office worldwide, each. Clearly, the franchise is very successful and entertaining. While there are those who do not find the series to be at all interesting, there are many of us who find ourselves "geeking out" over it. So, what are the signs that you're a Harry Potter nerd?

1. You own every book and movie and have read, re-read, watched, and rewatched them close to a million times.

Simply reading the books and seeing the movies is not satisfying enough. You must read them over and over, and watch the movies whenever you have time to relax...and every time ABC Family has a marathon.

2. You at one point had a Pottermore account, whether you still use it or not.

I mean, come on. How could you not be curious which house you would be sorted into? Not to mention all of the other insights on the characters, spells, and creatures that you can explore.

3. You have secretly sorted your friends into their appropriate houses.

Once you see a person's true colors you don't waste any time picking out whether they would fit best in Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Gryffindor. All the same, it's good to have friends in each house.

4. Harry Potter World is more fun for you than it is for the children that are there.

Since the first time you found out about the stories you dreamed of visiting Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. The first step out of Muggle territory and into the Wizarding World is really quite magical. And you had to take not just one picture, but multiple pictures, and King's Cross next to Platform 9 3/4.

5. You own Harry Potter merchandise, and you'll never have enough of it.

It's not enough to have a robe or a t-shirt. You need the coffee mug, the shot glass, the wand, the cook book and everything else there is to offer.

6. You become offended when someone says they don't like Harry Potter or have never read/seen it.

The shock of hearing someone say they don't like Harry Potter or that they never finished it because it was "boring" is nothing to joke about. It becomes a goal to share the Wizarding World with everyone, and make sure they enjoy it too.

7. You wish Quidditch was real and actually consisted of flying on brooms.

Lately there have been Muggle forms of Quidditch being played, but you can't help but wish you could play the real thing...even just once.

8. You're convinced you were supposed to attend Hogwarts, but your letter never came.

Voldemort did, in fact, wipe the Ministry's records of any Muggle-born wizards between 1985 and 1998...

9. A piece of you dies every time you finish the series, no matter how many times you've finished it.

Even though you never did attend Hogwarts, the stories make you feel as though you did. And it's just really hard to accept that when Harry leaves, you have to too.

Some of us have found a special place within the walls of Hogwarts and the life of Harry Potter. Being told you're a nerd for Harry Potter is nothing new, and it'll never get old. So, take pride in it, my fellow nerds!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
