I'm the oldest of five kids. Although at times I envied friends who were the youngest, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Here's a list I believe the first born of every family can relate to.


1. You were your parent's guinea pig.

It's not your fault if the youngest is the smartest.


2. Your picture is hung up in every room of the house.

You are the only one who has a thorough documentation of your childhood. It's because you know you're the favorite.


3. You were the official family chauffeur.

You know the shortcuts to your siblings' activities better than you know how to get to the mall.


4. You gave out parenting advice to first-time parents at a young age.

You could answer any questions regarding babies.


5. You were expected to be home five minutes before your curfew.

This was the worst.


6. You were your mom's secretary.

Pretty sure you can put 'personal assistant' in your resume.


7. You've watched plenty of TV shows you're too old for.

"Shaun the Sheep" is personally my favorite.


8. You were always forced to cancel any plans you had the instant your parents decided to go out last minute.


9. Through it all, you have an unconditional love for your siblings.
