Those of you who love to switch it up when it comes to eating out, here are a few places to try in KC! I don't have them listed in any specific order considering each of them has got something different to offer, i.e. culture, food, atmosphere, etc. Take a look, take a drive, enjoy a meal!

1. Town Topic

Located at 2021 Broadway Street, this place has got your craving for a cheap, greasy hamburger handled. The interior is rather small and can get crowded very easily so it's best to grab it on the go and travel down to the Liberty Memorial for a nice view!

2. The Brick

Located at 1727 McGee St., the Brick will also provide you with a delicious variety of greasy yumminess. Varying from a wide range burgers & hot dogs to chilis, soups, and wings. You can also catch them on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri, where he ate the bacon-wrapped, beer-battered, deep-fried hot dog. If you're in the mood for some live music, check out their website thebrickkcmo.com for shows/times!

3. You Say Tomato

Located at 2801 Holmes St., You Say Tomato is quite the hole-in-the-wall restaurant. It isn't much to look at but the food is wonderful! A very homey, hippie type restaurant with a mini market right inside with organic produce. This place is perfect for a weekend morning brunch. With everything fresh and homemade, it's a lovely, delicious place to stop by!

4. LuLu's Thai Noodle Shop

Located at 2030 Central St., Lulu's is a fantastic place with a phenomenal atmosphere. For pretty good prices you get some fantastic trendy, thai food. The people are very personable and give excellent service. Try swinging by on a Sunday for all day happy hour! A little on the pricy side, but they're definitely worth it!

5. Mildred's Coffee House

Located at 1821 Wyandotte St., this family-owned and operated since 1994. With amazing staff, phenomenal food, and a chill, homey atmostphere - you've got to check it out! Swing in for breakfast one morning for a delicious breakfast sandwich or the quiche of the day, as well as their wide range of coffee and lattes! They've got the feel-good, healthy food to keep you perky and full!

6. BRGR

Located in the Kansas City Power & Light District at 11 E 14th St., this a great place to hit up for dinner and drinks! The atmostphere is very modern and trendy, and the service is phenomenal! Classic American food, with a fantastic variety of hand-crafted beers, wines, and cocktails. I highly recommend the turkey burger when you visit!

7. Westside Local

Located at 1663 Summit St., Westside Local brings you farm-to-table fresh, delicious food!

The food you receive is bought from local farms and businesses (all the better). Everything on the menu changes with the seasons, to ensure you always receive the very best and very fresh! A very cozy environment for a date night or a family meal.

8. Gates

Located at 3205 Main St. (as well as several other places), this place has got some AMAZING barbecue. Gates is famous for their greeting "Hi, how may I help you". Prepare your stomachs when you order here, you'll have enough food for a couple of meals. Everything is delicious, because lets face it you can never go wrong with some good ol' fashioned BBQ. After all Kansas City is famous for it!

9. Grinders

Located at 417 E 18th St. (as well as several other locations), if you're looking for a modern, edgy atmosphere with some great food - Grinders is perfect. On the weekends they've got some great live music. Pizza is what they're known for but don't hesitate to go for their sandwiches or burgers. Definitely a great place to be on First Fridays (although they get packed rather quickly.)

So whether it's for a date night, family night out, or you just want some good food with good people. These places have got you covered with excellence!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
