9 Movies You Should Be Excited for This Summer

There are a lot of very anticipated movies and sequels coming up in the next few years that will revive our childhood. Here, a running list of must-watch films to watch (or re-watch) this summer:

1. The Marvel movies (2015-2019)

Ant-Man is coming out July 15th, 2015. After that, there's Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, another Spider-Man, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Infinity War Part 2, and Inhumans. These movies are scheduled to be released from 2015 all the way to 2019.

2. The Incredibles 2 (2016)

The first movie ended with the Incredibles' new-born baby suddenly developing fire-related powers of his own, which was a major cliff hanger. So many animated movies have gotten sequels - most of them not needing extra movies - but The Incredibles' sequel is one we've all been waiting for!

3. Finding Dory (2016)

Finding Nemo was one of the biggest animated successes of our generation. This movie doesn't need an addition to Finding Nemo as much as a whole new story line, and this is what Finding Dory will be all about - with the same characters we fell in love with more than a decade ago. Even though I'll be twenty years old, you can bet I'll be going to the mid-night premiere of this one.

4. Zoolander 2 (2016)

This movies' raunchy and dry humor made it a highly successful comedy in 2001. Fifteen years later, Ben Stiller himself has decided to direct a sequel to Zoolander. In addition to Stiller, this movie will also feature Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Christine Taylor, and Penelope Cruz.

5. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Even the title gets me hyped. Two of arguably the most legendary superheroes of our time are going head-to-head, until they discover the presence of an enemy that puts "mankind in greater danger" than has ever been known before, according to the movie's IMDB page.

6. Toy Story 4 (2017)

Each installment in this series is roller-coaster of emotions. I can honestly say that I've teared up AND laughed in every single one. A lot of people think this series is being worn out, but I personally am very excited to see the fourth one.

7. Captain Underpants: The Movie (2017)

We all read these comic books when we were younger, and now they're finally coming to life!

8. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)

The fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series has been long-awaited (and fans still have two more years). It seems like every movie in this saga ends with a cliff-hanger; no one can tell when this series will end, but I'm not complaining.

9. Avatar 2 (2017)

It only makes sense for the highest grossing film of all time ($2.8 billion) to have a sequel.

Even though I'll be in my twenties by the time these movies come out, I'm more than excited to see all of them. Movies have a special connection to our childhoods that can't be replaced by anything else, and having these sequels and adaptions to look forward to make growing up seem not that bad!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
