A new year is the perfect excuse to start making changes in your life. Every year, we make plans to better ourselves by setting resolutions, some of which are quite extreme.

But you know what, it's a new year and if you want to make such a drastic change in your life, then you go for it. As for the rest of us, it's hard to stick to those resolutions. Sometimes we need a little push and shove to get things flowing into motion.

Here is a couple quotes that I found motivating and I thought I'd share.

1) "If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you" -unknown

2) "It's okay if you fall down and lose your spark. Just make sure that when you get back up, you rise as the whole damn fire." -unknown

3) "Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will" -Karim Seddiki

4) "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new" -Socrates

5) "Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway." -Earl Nightingale

6) "Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do" -Oprah Winfrey

7) "Don't be afraid to start over. It's a brand new opportunity to rebuild what you truly want." -unknown

8) "Success doesn't come from what you do occasionally. It comes from what you do consistently."-unknown

9) "Don't fear failure. Fear being in the exact same place next year you are today." -unknown

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
