Do you find yourself bored frequently? Do you live on campus and want to do something besides make trips to class, the dining hall and your dorm? As a USF student, there are a variety of recourses that our tuition pays for to keep us occupied in our free time. And the best part is, most of them are free!

1. Ride a Share-A-Bull Bike

The Share-A-Bull Bike program provides 100 bikes distributed across campus so students have a healthy, enjoyable and emission-free way to travel across campus.

The Share-A-Bull program offers a new way of transportation for USF students to get to places on campus. Whether you’re trying to get to a class, or just want to take a ride through campus, Share-A-Bull gives USF students a daily two free hours to use one of their bikes. By downloading the application on your smart phone, you can create an account with your net ID and view all of the bikes that are near your area ready for rental. Next, you choose a bike, your application gives you a code, you enter it to the bicycle and you are granted your two hours with the bike. An additional charge of $5/hour is charged if you need the bike for a longer period of time. So go check it out!

2. Join A Student Organization

USF has more than 600 recognized student organizations for interests in everything from politics, academics, religion, the arts, sports, service, etc., plus an active Greek and multicultural community.

USF has a variety of clubs and organizations that match the interests of every student. Whether it’s a Greek organization, The Chocolate Lovers Club, or a culture club, there are many different clubs that meet once a month or more to keep students occupied. For more information on how to get involved you can visit the Center for Student Involvement.

3. Rent a Canoe, Kayak, or Paddleboard at Riverfront Park

USF Riverfront Park is an exciting recreational park. The park is open to current USF students, staff and faculty with a USF ID. Rentals can be purchased Thurs: 12 PM - 6:30 PM, Fri - Sun: 10 AM - 6:30 PM. For more information, contact the park directly at 813-987-6840.

5. Post Up On Castor Beach and Read The Oracle

USF’s award winning student-run newspaper, The Oracle, is a great way to stay informed on campus—and offers you a chance to explore your journalism, photography and business skills.

The Oracle publishes papers Monday-Thursday in spring and fall semesters and twice a week in the summer. Pick up the latest copy of the Oracle from one of the USF newspaper dispensers and read it while lying on a hammock at Castor Beach. Although it is not a real beach, Castor beach is a relaxing sandy area with hammocks, and the sun. It’s a great place to read or do homework.

6. Take a Class at USF Rec Center

Campus Recreation keeps students moving with programs and facilities including a 28,000 square-foot, fully-wired fitness center, group fitness classes, aquatics, intramural sports, club sports and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Not only are there endless machines at the state-of-the-art campus rec center, but there are also an endless amount of classes students can sign up for. Whether you’re in the mood for zumba, yoga, or a cycling class, USF has many different ways to stay active if you’re not into working out with machines.

7. Sign Up For an Intramural Sport

Intramural Sports offers organized competition in more than 30 different sports and activities including flag football, softball, ultimate Frisbee, swimming, wrestling, table tennis, team bowling and more.

Want to play sports, but you’re worried you’re not a star athlete? That’s ok. Intramural Sports are offered to every USF student, and there are many sports to choose from. All you have to do is join a team, and let the fun begin!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
