9 Extremely Useful Websites For College Students
The Organised Student

College can be really hard. Luckily, the internet is a great tool to help college students in times of need. Here are some of the most useful college websites around:

1. Quizlet

https://quizlet.com

Quizlet is the greatest thing that has ever happened to college students. That online exam? It is on there. That intense Spanish worksheet? Yeah, it is there too. Basically, Quizlet is the holy grail of all websites for college students.

2. CheggStudy

https://www.chegg.com/study

My personal favorite on the list goes to CheggStudy. CheggStudy is the best. It has almost every type of question imaginable on a database that you might feel compelled to ask. To make the website even better, if your question has not been asked, you can ask it and get a question in minutes. The only con to this website is it requires a $15 per month subscription.

3. Mathway

https://www.mathway.com

Are you struggling with math? If you are, than congratulations, Mathway is the website made for you. Mathway is an advanced math problem solving tool that can help you with your math homework. You type in your problem and it gives you the answer. The solutions can be shown, however, it requires a subscription.

4. RateMyProfessors

https://www.ratemyprofessors.com

This website is my personal savior when it comes time to make my class schedule. This website serves as a database for college professors. You simply just search the name and almost anything you want or need to know about a professor pops up on one simple page.

5. Written Kitten

http://writtenkitten.co

Writing can be the worst sometimes. However, Written Kitten just made reaching that 1500 word minimum so much easier. Written Kitten provides a picture of a kitten for you when you reach your word count, and trust me, the kittens are super cute.

6. The Skimm

http://www.theskimm.com

It is important to know what is going on in the world. Want a personal, yet somewhat sassy summary of all the note worthy things going on in the world? Skimm is for you. Skimm even offers a daily email to start of your day with some news.

7. KeepMeOut

http://keepmeout.com/en/

This website is good if you are a chronic tweeter/ Facebook user. This website blocks you out of social media for however long you enter. When the time is up, it allows you to re visit those websites you blocked. This website is great to use while studying.

8. The Owl

https://owl.english.purdue.edu

Remember that time you were stressing over that one paper you had to write in APA format? This website would have helped you. The Owl is a website that gives writing and formatting information. All the information is correct and extremely useful.

9. BibMe

http://www.bibme.org

Writing papers is already the worst, but citing your sources is just as bad. This website takes away all the hassle of citing your sources. Just enter the information into the blanks and then the website will create a bibliography or citation for you in seconds.

Happy studying!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
