If there's one horror every college student has is being forced to live with a random roommate. When you're left with no options, living with someone random is completely terrifying. You might not know anything about your future roommate besides what you can dig up on them through Facebook.. which may make matters worst. But if you happen to get lucky, your random roommates may be the best thing to happen to you. Here's what happens when your random roommates turn into your besties:

1. The house is a prank-war zone

Roomies that are super close tend to be the ones who also prank each other the most. Better watch your back when you're close with your roomies, you never know who is going to jump out and scare you.

2. They become people you can count on

When you get close with your roomies, you spend a lot of time with them outside the apartment. Whether you need someone to hit the lib or dinner with, your roomies always seem to be there.

3. Late night vent sessions

There's nothing better than when all the roommates meet in the living room after a long day and just talk. Yeah, it's great to call up one of your good friends to vent, but being able to talk about things with your roommates is so different. Definitely a perk of having cool roomies.

4. Being weird.. together

You get to be yourself without the fear of offending your roomies. Everyone in the house is comfortable being themselves at home, which makes living at school feel more like your real home. It's crazy that the best stress reliever is coming home and being wack with your roomies... there's nothing like it.

5. Always having someone to watch your favorite shows with

When you're roomies are close, you bet there are references made from your favorite show literally every single day. You also end up watching a lot of food videos and paranormal activity videos together too..

6. You deal with the house ghost together

Whenever something falls off a shelf, or a roomie hears something ghostly in the apartment, all the roomies turn into ghost-hunting goonies. Just imagine the crew from Scooby Doo or Stranger Things.. but with 5 college girls and lots of screaming.

7. The apartment is never quiet

Sometimes you and the roomies question whether or not you're being too loud, and if your neighbors are going to call the cops from all the screaming. But the truth is, you all have way too much fun together. Write me up officer, sue me for having fun with my besties. I dare you.

8. Your apartment together is a safe place

If you've never lived with a sh*tty roommate, you don't know how stressful it is to come home at night. Living with people who become your close friends really makes living on or off-campus feel more like home. Your house is super relaxing and inviting to live in; something to be thankful for.

9. Your random roomies become forever friends

They say living with your best friends is extremely difficult, but it's different when you find your best friends AFTER living with them. It's crazy to think that I once was afraid to live with my random roommates... Now I can't imagine my life without them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
