Being absolutely obsessed with makeup can come at a hefty price, but it doesn’t always have to. I love high-end makeup. Being a broke college student nowhere near a Sephora, though, I have fallen in love with the drugstore. With the summer almost here, I thought I would share some of my holy grail drugstore products that can even withstand the summer heat:

1. Garnier SkinActive BB Cream

I used to be very skeptical of BB cream, and its claimed benefits, but I love the ease of this BB cream. It gives good coverage and is lightweight, which is always a bonus. It includes sunscreen, which is a definite must during the summer, and it stays on all day. The only downfall to this product is the limited color range.

2. L'Oreal Paris True Match Powder

In the summer, my skin can become very oily during the day. This powder can keep me matte all day without looking too flat and is light enough that I can use it during the winter, as well, when my skin is drier. They have a pretty good color selection, so you should be able to find your shade easily.

3. Wet N' Wild Contouring Pallet

This contour pallet gives a beautiful highlight shade to put under the eyes and the perfect contour shade in a good color that creates a natural shadow without looking orange.

4. NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny

This bronzer is thought to be a dupe for Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer. It gives a very pretty glow to the skin that helps maintain that sun-kissed tan all summer long.

5. Covergirl TruNaked Nudes Pallet

Rumor has it that this pallet is a dupe for the Naked pallets, and I can tell you from experience that these have very good pigmentation and last a long time. All of the different ranges are beautiful, quality eye shadows, and great for travel. I usually take some of the darker color on my lash line as a liner and throw on some mascara, and I'm finished.

6. Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers Mascara

This mascara gives beautiful volume and length to your lashes and lasts all day without any of the black fall out under the eyes that can happen with wear throughout the day.

7. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends Sheer Highlighting Blush In Pure

Mixing all of these colors in this pan together creates a very pretty natural blush that also gives a very pretty glow without looking too shiny. The color is flattering on pretty much all skin tones, too.

8. NYX HD Concealer

This concealer is very pretty under the eyes and is one of the very few concealers that does not crease under my eyes with wear. They have a pretty slim color range which is a drawback, but overall it is a very good product in regard to coverage and wear.

9. Burt's Bees 100% Natural Moisturizing Lipstick in Blush Basin

This lipstick provides just enough pigmentation for a natural "my lips but better" look. The moisturizer in these lipsticks is amazing, and they are 100% natural which is a plus.

This products work for me, but they may not work for everyone. Hopefully, though, this list has given you some drugstore makeup inspiration!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
