Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can get into arguably one of the best times of the year: Christmas. For many people, this means breaking out Bing Crosby, Michael Bublé, and other Christmas idols. However, others choose a more alternative route when celebrating the holidays that take us back to our emo childhoods. Here are ten of the best songs for reminiscing while also celebrating the holiday season.

1. All I Want For Christmas Is You- My Chemical Romance

If you enjoyed pop punk music as much as I do, I'm sure you've listened to this song at every Christmas you can remember. It's an instant classic in this music genre because, well, it's Gerard Way half-screaming to a song that was first performed by Mariah Carey. If that doesn't sell you, I don't know what would.

2. Winter Passing- The Academy Is...

When The Academy Is... broke up a few years ago, I was seriously crushed. They have such a distinct sound, and this doesn't change while singing an original song about the winter holiday season. While the song isn't a classic Christmas song, it's still extremely beautiful, and it fits well with anyone who has felt a little down during the holiday season.

3. Happy Holidays, You Bastard- Blink-182

If I didn't include this song, it literally would not be a pop punk Christmas song list. It's vulgar, it's humorous, and most importantly, it's classic Blink-182. Also, we can all strangely relate to the lyric "it's Christmas Eve and I've only wrapped two f'ing presents."

4. White Christmas- Panic! at the Disco

Another classic Christmas song covered by a classic band. Brendon Urie's smooth voice fits this song so well, and I truly believe anyone could add this to their Christmas playlist.

5. Mr. Winter- The Maine

Holiday songs are supposed to make you happy, but for some reason, pop punk bands love to go against this traditional belief. The Maine seriously rips my little baby heart out with this song. "Mr. Winter, don't forget her/She'll be waiting all alone/Please just say you'll come back." Ouch.

6. Yule Shoot Your Eye Out- Fall Out Boy

If anyone was going to make Christmas seem like such a downtrodden time, it would be Fall Out Boy. But they do it so well, which is why it's included on this list. "Merry Christmas, I could care less." What a sad line for a time that's supposed to be so happy! Also, the title is absolutely genius. How do they do it?

7. Believe In Me- fun.

Okay, fun. is kind of not really pop punk, but I do associate them with a lot of these bands on the list (Fueled By Ramen forever). Plus, this song is such a good Christmas song, so how could I not include it?

8. I Won't Be Home For Christmas- Blink-182

Blink-182 is seemingly good at everything, writing holiday songs included. They're the only band to appear twice on this list, and it's because they write good songs that we all like to listen to. Period.

9. Last Christmas- Jimmy Eat World

I'll wrap up this list with a classic Christmas song and a classic pop punk band. This is seriously such a good cover. I love Jimmy Eat World, I love "Last Christmas," and I love them both even more when they're somehow combined. Most importantly, I love pop punk holiday songs, and I hope everyone enjoys this list to get in the holiday spirit.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
