1. You live in The Brok

Every freshman that attends Newberry College just loves the idea of living in Brokaw, right? Wrong. At first, everyone has their noses turned upside down regarding the freshman dorm, but to be honest, this dormitory has given me some of the best memories of my freshman year in college and I've only been here a week!

2. Wi-fi? What is that?!

Living on a college campus definitely has its perks when it comes to finishing assignments on time since the college provides free wi-fi to all students. In the Brok, the majority of freshman don't know what it's like to lay in bed and scroll through their twitter and instagram feeds while sending their best friend at a different college or university a snapchat WITHOUT using their own network data! Wifi is kind of rough when it comes to the Brok.

3. You eat like a hungry cow at Chick-fil-a and in the caf.

Of course, everyone loves to eat chick-fil-a, and who cares if you eat three burgers, five slices of pizza, two salads, four chicken sandwiches a large fry and drink three large sweet teas? Absolutely nobody! I mean, the food is there for a reason right? Everyone has heard of freshman 15 somewhere down the line, but we can worry about that later.

4. You wash your clothes....nonstop!

Nobody likes wearing dirty clothes, at all, ever. For some freshman, this task of doing laundry may be the hardest thing that is done in college, especially since Moms or Dads mainly did laundry back at home during the high school years. If you wear something once, it has to be washed, especially if anyone saw you in it, because if you wore it the next day, people may think you smell bad and you're nasty since you don't "wash your clothes".

5. You dress up for class

Really people? It's class, not a date! C'mon, your professors don't care if you have a blue polo shirt with matching shorts, socks, and shoes. Be comfortable in class, I mean you are going to be in the room doing whatever the professor tells you and more than likely, you want to be comfortable and able to participate instead of sitting by yourself because you decided to wear a dress with some cute pumps for class instead of a basic t shirt and norts!

6. You love your shower shoes!

Brokaw is a dorm where you have a "community" shower.. So if you forget your shower shoes, you risk your feet to some fungal, toe eating infection that could take over your feet. Shower shoes are real, and they save you a lot of hurt. Just wear them and enjoy your nice warm showers.

7. You eat Easy Mac when your roomie isn't around to grab food with you.

No freshman wants to enter the cafe by themselves, so when your roomie is in a class and you want some food, you go to your food shelf and grab you some easy mac and you lay on your bed, watch netflix, and enjoy! Most perfect date ever .... just me, my easy mac, and my spoon.

8. You go to all the SGA events!

Bingo? Yes. Magic Show? Yes, Human foosball? Yes. Foam party? Yes. Who doesn't love spending a night on campus doing fun things with the rest of the school?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
