Looking back on my senior year of high school (last year) I wish there were things I could have told myself, or that someone would have told me.

1. High school is not the best four years of your life.

Everyone always says high school is the best four years of your life or they wish they could go back to high school. Yes, high school was fun, I made a lot of great friends, and I changed a lot as a person throughout high school, but there is so much more in the world beyond high school and your hometown.

2. Enjoy your senior year while it lasts.

Time flies. Your high school career flew by and your last semester of high school will fly by too. Enjoy it and have fun!

3. Apply for all the scholarships you can!

Free money! I know scholarships aren't fun, but debt and loans aren't fun either! I had one generic essay that I used for most scholarships. Look into local scholarships; they're easier to get.

4. Forget about the drama and cliques.

This your last semester with the people you've grown up with let go of all of the old drama and forget about the cliques and enjoy your time together while it lasts.

5. Who you were in high school won't matter after you graduate.

If you were class president, the captain of the football team, a part of the chess club, or the teachers pet I promise, none of it matters after graduation. After you graduate you either go to college or get a job and you begin a new part of your life. Even though who you were in high school helped create who you are or will be you get a new identity after it's all over.

6. Graduation day is the last time you will all be in the same room together.

It's sad to think about, but during your graduation ceremony look around; you won't see some of these people ever again. Yes, you have high school reunions but life gets busy and some people won't show up. After this day, you begin a new journey in life but be sure to say goodbye to the people who were there during your time in high school.

7. Don't spend all of your graduation money at senior week.

It seems like a good idea at the time but you'll probably regret buying that "Cool Story Bro" T-shirt. I'm not saying don't spend any of it, but make sure you spend it wisely. You spend a lot of money during your first semester of college save your grad money for then!

8. Spend time with your family before you leave.

I cannot stress this enough please make sure you spend time with your family if you're going away to college. I know making time for everyone is hard and you want to spend time with friends or you're busy working, but I promise your family will love seeing you before you leave.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
