It’s an obvious no-brainer that rappers are known for possessing an incredible lyrical game and ability to rhyme on the spot. Though it seems like the rap world is made up of strictly big booties, gang-banging, cash money and driving expensive Lamborghini vehicles, there’s much more depth within the art of rap than society perceives. Luckily, every now and then, rappers are anointed with a little bit of knowledge, a little real-life advice that they decide to share with us. Chance, Kanye, Nicki…they’ve all done it. Thanks to these rappers, I've become a little wiser and a bit more humble. With that said, here are eight times my favorite rappers dropped the mic of life and spewed a line or two of wisdom. Check it out.

1. Kanye West

Stay hungry, but stay humble. Someone will always be better than you, and someone will always be better than them and so on. Keep your humility, but celebrate your dope-ness.

2. Chance the Rapper

You're your biggest critic, but it's OK to admit you're working on yourself. Allow yourself to be a piece of work in progress.

3. Frank Ocean

If that's not a philosophical thought, then I don't know what is.

4. Childish Gambino (a.k.a. Donald Glover)

"Keeper" means nothing if you choose to let her (or him) go or drive her away. Realize what you have and appreciate it before it's gone.

5. J. Cole

This would make life a lot easier.

6. A$AP Rocky

Practice trust, but don't always trust the devil; wolves in sheep's clothing are present in more places than you think.

7. Frank Ocean (part two)

Also a great contribution to the world of philosophy. I guarantee someone else is thinking this too.

8. The Weeknd

You got to get a grip on yourself before you let someone else in.

These are truly words to live by.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
