I don't want to go back to reality.

8 Thoughts Everyone Has After Spring Break

If you were one of the lucky ones, you spent your spring break on a beach, near an ocean, and/or consuming dangerously large amounts of alcohol. There's no doubt that you made some of the best (half-way-remembered) memories over spring break, but it probably seemed like it went by way too quickly and now you find yourself back at the never ending grind of this thing we call life. Post-Spring Break sadness is real, and here's what goes through every spring breaker's mind once the glorious week is over.

1. Have I always been this fat?

Apparently a week long diet of fast food, beer, and vodka can catch up to you that fast. Well, guess it's time to eat more green things.

2. I never should have gotten on that flight back home

It's Monday, I'm back at school/work, and I hate my life. Why did I ever think leaving the sunshine and beaches was a good idea?

3. I think I'm still hungover even though I've been back for two days

A week straight of drinking definitely left it's toll on me, and I think I'm dying. Is it possible to be hungover two days after you stopped drinking? My body is telling me yes, yes it is.

4. Where is the sunshine at??

I knew I didn't live in the warmest state, but why is it so damn cold here?? I need to rethink my living location right now.

5. I'm so excited to be eating real food again

Again, a week long diet of fast food is not as fun as it sounds. My intestines hate me right now, and they are so happy that I'm finally eating real meat, fruit, and veggies again.

6. Oh, how did sand get in my backpack? Whatever.

Somehow I'm still finding sand all over the place, and I've come to accept the fact that it won't stop anytime soon. I'm not sure where all of this sand is coming from, but it's a little bit of spring break so I don't mind.

7. I just really, really don't want to have responsibilities again

A week of freedom was such a tease. How am I expected to be responsible right now? I'm still trying to get over the fact that I'm not waking up to 80 degree weather anymore. Please, don't ask me to accomplish anything before 10 am.

8. So who's ready to book next year's spring break trip?

If I have to get back to reality now the only thing that will get me through it is knowing I'm going somewhere next year. Is it too early to start planning already? Maybe. But I will do so anyways.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
