Welcome to Stony Brook University, home of the Seawolves. As you probably know, there are several things you wish you had known about Stony Brook before you chose this school, things that your tour guide (conveniently) omitted.
1. Printing lines.
Oh, so you're in a rush to class and just need to print out your five-page essay real quick? That's cute, because the person in front of you is printing out their whole damn biology textbook and all the other printers are out of toner.
2. Walking from Tabler to the Union.
Bruh. It's all I have to say. Stony Brook is a huge campus, and walking from Tabler Quad to the Union (which are on total opposite sides of campus) is a huge struggle.
Speaking of Tabler...
3. Those steps.
Long day at work? Back to back classes all day? Can't wait to go back to your dorm and chill? Well, have fun walking up these bad boys!
And for the commuters...
4. Have fun finding a spot!
You have class at 1 p.m.? That's cute. So does everyone and their mother. Have fun spending 15 minutes trying to find a parking spot somewhat close to Wolfie's Hut, and waiting another 15 minutes for the damn bus to show up. And pray that the person sitting next to you on the bus is wearing some deodorant.
5. Geese. Everywhere.
I mean, who doesn't love stepping in some fresh goose shit on their way to class? Especially if you frequent Roth Quad, have fun with those bad boys.
6. Having your history class in the physics building
Seriously, where is the logic? I'm pretty sure that a history class should be in the Social and Behavioral Sciences building, not the Physics building, or the Light Engineering building. I don't even know what light engineering is!
7. Why are these buildings so ugly?
As a Seawolf, it is inevitable that you will have to set foot in this Cold War era style bunker. #justseawolfthings.
8. As ugly as some of these buildings may be, the foliage makes up for it!
Watching the seasons change on campus is definitely one of my favorite things! Oh, and they still don't tell you what a Seawolf is.
