I don't know about you, but I'm usually the type driver that yells constantly when behind the wheel. Even when other people drive me, which I hate, I still yell at the other drivers. Countless of times I have told my mom, "I would've honked at them." I can't help my road rage. I am just trying to get to and from my destination in an orderly and timely fashion. I obey the rules of the road, for the most part. What bothers me is the fact that other people don't. There are also the drivers who obey the rulers so well that they become a liability. There is no reason to drive under the speed limit. That is dangerous. I have so many pet peeves when driving that I could probably list them all night. Here's a condensed list of the things I hate that other drivers do. (Disclaimer: I live in Georgia so not everyone might be able to related to everything listed.)
1. People who pull out in front of me and proceed to granny roll
If you have the guts to pull out in front of a car going 45+ miles an hour, the least you can do is punch the gas and try to catch up to the speed limit. I have to hope for your sake that I can hit the breaks fast enough to not fly into the back of your car. It is not only rude but dangerous as well. As my dad says, "Long skinny pedal on the right. Use it."
2. People who drive with there hazards on in the rain
Your car is not broken, you are just scared. It's actually illegal in some states to have your hazards on when your car is in motion anyway. If you are scared of the rain, pull over and wait until it stops. Use your hazards for what they are actually made for.
3. People who take forever to make a right hand turn
Why? Why? WHY? There is no reason to stop and roll about two miles an hour to turn right. I get it, you need to yield. However, if the light is green and the traffic is flowing, no one is going to be in your way while you turn.
4. People who stop an ENTIRE car length or more behind the person in front of them
There is absolutely no reason for this. They only thing it's good for is pissing a lot of people off. Let's take for instance someone who need to get in the left turn lane but is one car away from being able to get over and make the light. If you hadn't left a car length of space, the other car could've rolled up and let the guy in the turn lane.
5. People who drive in a right lane they know is going to end, and then stop in it when they decide they need to go straight after all
There are signs that say "Right Lane Ends" for a reason. If you see that the lane is going to end and force you to turn right, get over if you know that's not what you need to do. DO NOT wait until the last minute and stop in the turn lane. Other people read the sign and actually need to turn right. You are slowing everyone down.
6. People who block the intersection
You are the epitome of ridiculous. If your car obviously cannot make it through the intersection without blocking it, wait at the light until you have room. This is not only rude to people trying to turn left in front of you, but also dangerous. What if the light changes and you're in the middle of the road? You never know if someone is going to notice that the intersection is blocked before it's too late.
7. People who drive UNDER the speed limit
If you are too scared to drive, stay home. It is so annoying when people drive 45 in a 55 mph zone. You are slowing everyone down and being a danger to yourself. If the main roads are too fast for you, you can find a new route.
8. People who don't turn their headlights on
Are you trying to get hit? Honestly, how am I supposed to know there is a car behind me at 10 p.m. if they don't have there headlights on. On that note, don't turn your fog lights on either. If there is no fog, you don't need them.
Come on people, let's use common sense when we drive.
