There's no place quite like home.

If you've ever moved from New York, you know there are things that you will miss. In the case that you happened to move to Florida, or are just taking a long break here, you will notice that things just aren't the same in Florida. Here are some examples of what you'll miss.

1. The bagels and rolls.

Even if you get a bagel or roll, it will not taste remotely close and you will go and get one once you get back to New York. Also, let's not even get into it about a bacon, egg and cheese.

2. Everything being fast-paced.

In N.Y., everything is so fast. The people, the driving and the service. In Florida you have to wait for everything, and everyone and nothing will frustrate you more than being behind a slow person.

3. Being close to the city.

By "the city" we all know it's the great NYC. Even if you don't go to the city that often or don't find it to be as special as everyone says, that's okay. Its your city and you know that no one can talk bad about it because when it comes down to it, it's the best place in the world.

4. The pizza

Lets not even get into the topic of pizza. New York pizza is the best and it's impossible to find a pizza place that compares in Florida (or anywhere else for that matter).

5. The holidays

The holidays in New York are magical. The weather gets colder and all of the trees are decorated. And let's not forget about the holiday workers that make everything so spirited. When you're in Florida they tend to decorate palm trees and you can still go to the beach. That just doesn't scream "holidays" to me.

6. The changing leaves in the Fall

Hands down, fall is my favorite season. The leaves change and that crispness begins to flow in the air. It's magical. When you're in Florida all you have are some palm tree leaves falling down. It's just not the same.

7. The mountains for hiking

Hiking the mountains is a great way to be with friends and get some exercise. There are so many options in New York of places to go. However, everything in Florida is pretty much flat and the "mountains" they have are nothing even close.

8. The people

Let's not forget about the people. Nothing compares to the people you see in New York, especially the city. Anytime someone does something crazy, you just tend to ignore it because in reality, nothing is too crazy for N.Y. When you're in Florida, you actually tend to miss this craziness since it's a whole different world here.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
