When you first arrive to college meeting your roommate is often a scary thing. You filled out a form with all of the things that you liked and the things that you would like to find in your roommate but who know if campus living did a good job of matching you and your roommate. If they did a great job though, you will notice right away that these 8 things start happening to you.
1. There is no such thing as personal space.
What's yours is theirs. You don't even ask to borrow things anymore. You definitely have clothes in their closet and books on their desk. You have spent just as much time in their bed as in yours.
2. Being alone in your room is kind of scary.
When your roommate goes home for the weekend, but you are still at school you try to spend as little time in your room as possible. Falling asleep is very hard because you can't talk each other to sleep. As you lay there is silence and can't hear another person's breathing, your own room actually becomes a little scary.
3. Then when they come home you are both so excited.
Even if they have only been gone for day, it feels like they have been gone forever and you have missed them a lot. When you see each other, it is only natural that you run into each other's arms and scream; you might even get a little teary eyed.
4. You set a new trend.
The room is clothing optional. If you don't feel like wearing pants, then you really don't have to.
5. No judgement.
You can do absolutely whatever you want -- stuff your face with ice cream all day, go out all the time, get way too drunk, roll around on the floor complaining about your homework and you never have to worry about your roommate's judgement.
6. You know everything about them.
Even though you only met a couple months ago, you already know everything about them. You have heard the story about their first boyfriend, the time they peed their pants and all the fights they have had with their parents.
7. You are so much more than roommates.
She is your sister and your best friend.
8. You can't imagine your life without them.
