11 Things Every Family Goes Through In The Waiting Room

Everyone has had to spend time in the hospital with a family member who has been sick. I found the news that my Uncle had to go to the ER and was quickly put in the ICU. During my time in the ICU waiting room, my family does some crazy things. Although, they are completely normal when you're restless and just wanting your family member to get better. Not happy my Uncle was put in the hospital but, I wouldn't want to spend Thanksgiving break with anyone else other than my family.

1. We make any place like home.

We are very good at making sure that if we are all together then we are happy.

2. Everyone wants to be the Loudest!

No matter where my family is, everyone seems to think that they have the most important story. Everyone thinks they need to be the loudest and it always ends up in everyone in uproar.

3. Eating is a must!

We're always down for eating. Waiting to hear news in a waiting room can be very stressful. Having food always makes things better. Plus, our family loves food.

4. Waiting for the news...

We sit, and sit, and sit, waiting for the doctors to bring us the news. In reality we feel like the doctors are sitting back playing games with us. This is the image we see every time the doctors disappear.

5. There's no room for any other families.

Our family is so close knit that if one person in the family happens to be in the hospital then we all have to come.

6. Anyplace is a bed.

Sitting around can make you very sleepy. No matter where it is we have all laid in some weird way to make sure we get some sleep.

7. Nothing else to do, we clean.

My family happens to be a group of clean freaks. So, the cleaning lady will come in to clean but the place is never clean enough. Im pretty sure they all travel with cleaner in their trunks.

8. So who are ya'll here for?

If someone is in the room waiting for another patient, our family asks each person, "So who are you here for?" and then they begin to see how our family connects to theirs.

9. Did someone say Pinterest?

Most of my family consists of females, so yes, we do have Pinterest downloaded on our phones. When there is nothing else to do but wait we do a little crafty thinking.

10. Phones never stop!

Having a big family and a big church family, means a lot of phone calls. Everyone wants to send their best wishes and give support. When I say everyone, thats a lot of people so sometimes the phones would ring a little much, but I wouldn't trade that support for anything in the world.

11. We wait even more...

Sitting in a waiting room waiting to find out how your love one is feeling can be very hard. The entire time no matter what you do to pass the time you're still waiting to find out how your family member is doing. This can feel like forever.

But at the end of the day, no matter how many of us are packed into a waiting room, family or not, we all have had a great time spending time with each other and having a great time. Although my family is crazy I truly love them and enjoy spending every moment with them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
