Of course when you are away at college, you miss everyone in your family. You don't have your siblings around to annoy you and your parents to take care of you. It's weird not being home. However, they are just one call away. Your dogs, however, are a different story. You can't talk to them and they don't know how much you miss them.
1. The emptiness you feel when no one is excited to see you when you walk in the door.

You could be gone for a total of five minutes and they will still lose their shit when you walk in the door. No one is more excited to see you come home than your
dog. So when you come home after a long day, it's kind of upsetting when there are no little fur balls jumping up and down by the door.
2. Feeling the need to burst into tears every time you see a dog on campus.

You miss your pups so much. So naturally when you see someone walking their dog on campus, of course you contemplate stealing it and loving it forever. But that is frowned upon, so you just have to admire from afar and wish that your dog was here.
3. Your bed is really empty without the extra bodies.

If you have smaller dogs (or even bigger dogs), chances are you can find them cuddled up next to you when you wake up in the morning or after taking a nap. It's super cute seeing them cuddled up and it almost gives you a sense of comfort. At school, you have the freedom to move about your entire bed without having to worry about accidentally kicking them. Even then, you still find yourself sad that they aren't around.
4. Your camera role is full of pictures of your pups.

Literally every other picture in your camera role is of your dogs. And it's totally acceptable, because they are adorable.
5. When you bring your dogs up in every conversation ever.

You miss them, so naturally you talk about them all the time. Every time your mom calls, you just have to ask about your precious fur babies.
6. And you have FaceTime dates with them all the time.

You can talk to your family every day, but you can't talk to your dogs. Even though they don't quite understand FaceTime, it still makes you feel so much better when they perk up when they hear your voice. Plus, seeing their little furry faces makes your day a little better.
7. Constantly thinking, "My dog would love this."

You could walk by an open field and the first thought is how much your dog would love running around here. It could be a number of things, from toys to food to other dogs. Regardless, you are literally always thinking of your dogs.
8. You are the most excited to see your dogs when you come home.

When you finally come home from school, the first thing you do is go right home to see your dogs. You are probably just as excited as they are for the reunion, maybe even more excited. The best thing about coming home is reuniting with your dogs.
Bottom line is, the withdrawal from your little fur babies is real when you are away at school. Every dog owner knows how hard it can be to be away from them for an extended amount of time. But when you finally see them again, it's the best day ever.
