December is by far my favorite month. Each year I count down the time until my favorite month comes back around. This year was no exception. Here are the 8 things I am excited for this December

1. Snow.

I know a lot of people hate December because of the cold and snow but that's why I love this month. There's nothing quite as beautiful as now covering the trees in my opinion. It hasn't snowed very much where I am from so I am ready for that first snowfall!

2.My Grandma's Ginger Bread Cookies.

Each December my grandma makes gingerbread cookies to give to the family. They are honestly the best cookies I have ever had and I am very much looking forward to another delicious batch this year.

3. Decorating For The Holidays.

Another thing I am excited for his helping my mom decorate for Christmas. Every year we go and pick out a tree together and spend the day decorating it and setting up for Christmas.

4. Seeing The Lights At The Park.

Every year a park near my town sets up lights in the park and the display is absolutely gorgeous. It is one of my favorite parts about December and this year I can't wait to get a chance to go and see the lights once again this year.

5. Christmas.

December means that Christmas is just right around the corner. Christmas means family, food, fun, and presents. What more could someone ask for in a holiday?!

6. My Birthday.

I think this one is pretty self-explanatory! I cannot wait to celebrate with the ones that I love and this year I am planning a trip to Vegas!

7. Christmas Movies.

Christmas movies have been a lifelong favorite of mine ever since I was a kid. Being an adult hasn't changed that one bit!

8. The End of Fall Semester.

While finals absolutely suck the feeling of enjoying a break after all the hard work put in is a feeling like no other!

What are some of your favorite things about December? Let me know in the comment section below!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
