8 Struggles Of Summer Classes

As if two semesters weren't enough, the struggles of summer classes are even worse.

The countdown for summer begins the day spring semester starts. As the days dwindle down the sights of summer become more real. Daydreaming of adventures with friends and good weather is short-lived when you realize you have to take the dreaded summer classes. Although the struggles of summer classes are endless, here are eight of them that everyone can agree on.

It never stops

After the mental beating of the spring semester you only have a week break before jumping back into the endless projects, assignments, tests and quizzes. Just when you celebrate your summer class being over, the fall semester starts up and you do it all again. It never stops.

The weather is a constant tease

Motivation to do school work can be hard to come by during the summer when you are tormented daily by the beautiful weather. As you sit in class or in front of your computer doing work and check Snapchat you see all your friends laying on the beach or by the pool without you.

"I thought summer was a time to sleep in?"

Although it's not as bad as waking up for an 8 a.m., waking up during the summer is extra hard for some reason. You may find yourself hitting that snooze button four or five times before rushing to your laptop or class.

"Wanna hang out?" "Sorry, can't. Summer class."

Whether it is homework, class or a test the next morning that is holding you back, your heart breaks when you get a text asking to hangout, but you know you can't because of school...in the summer. For those that have FOMO (fear of missing out) this may be especially difficult for you to balance.

Limited Income

Finding time to work while taking a full load of classes in the summer (or even just a few credits) can be extremely difficult. Your money is pouring out to pay for the classes and not that much is coming in. If you have to take summer classes save up to prepare or try to pick up part-time jobs here or there when you can.

No sick or vacation days

If you are taking classes online there are no excuses for not getting your work done. If you are going on vacation you have to take your computer with you and if you try to use the excuse that you are sick the instructor will remind you that your already home and don't have to worry about moving from bed or getting anyone sick.

Longer classes and a shorter time to complete assignments

Most summer classes take a semester long syllabus and cram it into a few weeks. This means three-hour classes and a quiz every class on top of all that other good stuff the professors throw out there.

All nighters

As your friends are pulling all nighters together at the bars you are pulling an all nighter just you and your textbook.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
