1. You learn Independence
You have taught that it is okay to be alone and it’s okay to be happy about it. You have taught me to be dependent of myself and only of myself, because you never know what the world will throw at you. You have taught me never to put my happiness in the hands of another person and you have taught me how to stand alone. You have taught me to be proud of my independence and to never let anyone take that away from me. Girls can do anything guys can do and you never let me forget that <3
2. You learn to be strong
You have showed me that it is okay to be weak but your strength is your best quality. You have showed me how to put a smile on when all I want to do is cry. You have showed me how to stand in what I believe in, even if that means I will be standing alone. You have showed me to keep trying when all I want to do is give up. Your strength is my key in life and I thank you for that or I wouldn’t be who I am today.
3. You learn to believe in yourself
You have taught me to love myself and believe that I can accomplish anything. Your passion only makes me want to succeed farther in life. You have taught me to look deep down in myself and find the person I am today. You have taught me it is okay to be scared or nervous but to fight through the pain. You have showed me that life can throw anything at me and I still stand strong because you believe in me. You have taught me to never give up on my dreams.
4. You learn that failure is okay
If I have learned anything in my short 21 years it is that not everything goes the way you plan it to go. You will fail homework assignments here and there and you won’t get the grade you wanted on that group project. You won’t get a call back from your dream job and you might not even start off where you thought you would be in life. But guess what? That stuff is all okay, because of you. You have showed me its okay to fail, but you also have taught me to never stop trying. You have proved to me that failures are okay as long as you learn something from them. Thank you for showing me that being perfect will never be an option and I’m finally okay with that.
5. You learn to accept your self
I don’t think I would have been a normal teenager if I didn’t grow up “hating” or ‘disliking” something about myself. From the hours of trying to find the perfect out fit and the countless time I re did my hair so I would feel comfortable you were always right there telling me how beautiful I was. You always told me I need to love myself for who I am because this is who I will be for the rest of my life. As I get older I’m slowly starting to accept how I look on the outside and thanking you for never giving up on me about it. You have taught me that looks aren’t everything and to find something on inside of everyone that makes them so unique. Thank you for finding not only my beauty on the outside but on the inside as well.
6. You learn how to show real love
If there is anyone in this world that would show be the true meaning of “love” it would be you. You always tell me how much I am loved and cared for by you. You are always reminding me how important I am to you and how you are so grateful I am your daughter. Those short little gestures mean more to me then you will ever know. Never would I thought it was possible to love someone as much as you love me and as much as I love you. You have taught me that strong love exist and thankful for me I call her mom.
7. You learn to accept the things you can’t change
Okay so this one is a little harder to do then the other but I still try to do it because of you. You always see the good in everything and always remind me that things could always be worse. You remind me how lucky I am (even though I shouldn’t need the reminder.) You tell me that everything will still work out and that everything happens for a reason. I am thankful for how strong you are because if it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t be able to accept certain things. I have learned change is scary but change will soon be normal and things will all come together.
So thank you mom for teaching me these small life lessons that I will forever carry with me for the rest of my life. Love you 99999999999999999999999999999 skies
