8 Signs You're An Over-Thinker
The Mind Unleashed

Over-thinker (noun): introspective and overly sensitive individual who is always looking for meaning in everything and specializes in the extensive analysis of subtweets.

It might sound poetic but anyone who’s an over-thinker knows that in reality it's more of a struggle. It can be both a blessing and a curse but half of the time, you don't even realize how much of an over-thinker you are. Here are 8 signs that the over-thinker life chose you:

1. You overanalyze everything.

Every text, every emoji, body language, etc. You’re good at picking up on hints, but sometimes you can get too caught up in it. Which leads you to worry about what people think about you or if you're being too annoying.

2. You like having a plan.

You thrive on to-do lists and you’re big on always planning ahead.

3. You’re indecisive.

This can be annoying when you're trying to decide between pizza or Chinese for dinner. But when it comes to making important life decisions, you put a lot of thought into them. After a lengthy pros and cons list, you can be pretty confident you made the right choice.

4. You replay situations and conversations over in your head.

“What did he really mean by that?”

5. People who send vague or ambiguous texts stress you out.

Can’t tell if you're being nonchalant or genuinely don't care.

6. You’re a perfectionist.

You fixate on details normal people probably would just glance over, and because of this anything you do just turns out better.

7. You’re always wondering “why?”

So many of the thoughts that run through your head have to do with trying to understand people’s motives.

8. You get frustrated when people tell you to “let it go” or “go with the flow.”

Just because you don't go with the flow, doesn't mean you're not a chill person. Being an over-thinker is in your nature, it’s how you function. You're always trying to understand why things are the way there are.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

Yes, the math major is doing a math-related post. What are the odds? I'll have to calculate it later. Many people have probably learned about the Fibonacci sequence in their high school math classes. However, I thought I would just refresh everyone's memories and show how math can be beautiful and apply to physical things everywhere around us with stunning examples.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
