If you still have not seen the world phenomenon that is "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," what have you been doing? Go see it. Now. (Spoiler alerts ahead.)
For everyone else, we all know about the hottest Resistance fighter pilot in the galaxy: the one and only, Poe Dameron. We didn’t get nearly enough Poe in this otherwise awesome new addition to the "Star Wars" saga. So, here are eight reasons we want to see more Poe Dameron in "Star Wars Episode VIII."
1. He was the coolest character in the movie.
The skills. The confidence. The conviction. The hair. Everyone agrees -- Poe is by far the coolest character in the entire movie.
2. Oscar Isaac is the one of the hottest actors in Hollywood.
He’s nominated for a Golden Globe, he’s playing the ultimate comic book villain, Apocalypse, in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, and he can dance (as seen in Ex Machina). Among so many other talents, Oscar Isaac can do it all. It would be a waste not to make him a major focus in the next movie.
3. We want more of the Resistance.
Is this the newest incarnation of the Rebel Alliance? An army for The Republic? Due to the clear lack of exposition in "The Force Awakens," we have more questions than answers about the Resistance by the end of the movie. What better way to flesh out our new Rebels than through its best pilot?
4. Poe and Finn: Rebel bromance'
From their first scenes together, some of the funniest, most exciting moments in the film come during Poe and Finn’s escape from the New Order. Finn remains with the Resistance, injured, at the end of the film, so if some time passes between now and the release of VIII, look for their brotherhood to continue to grow.
5. Poe and Rey.
We didn’t get even one line of dialogue between our new favorite female Jedi, Rey, and Poe. As Rey begins to train in the ways of the force, the new goal will be to defeat The New Order and bring balance to the force. These two will have to interact, Resistance fighter and Jedi, but what dynamic will it bring? Camaraderie? Friendship? Respect? Romance? We’ll have to wait and see.
6. More space battles.
Everyone loves seeing the Millennium Falcon, but nothing puts people on the edge of their seats like the face-off between a First Order Tie-Fighter and a Rebel X-Wing.
7. Oscar Isaac loves everything "Star Wars."
Besides being an amazing talent, Oscar Isaac is as big of a fan as any person involved with these movies. He helped come up with Poe’s backstory, turning a character was originally supposed to die in the first few scenes into an integral part of the story. He wants to see this character through the fight against the First Order, and so do the fans.
