Can'As a lifelong Harry Potter fan, I could not describe how thrilled I felt when I first heard about the upcoming movie of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This past Saturday I finally had the chance to actually watch the movie, and needless to say, THEY DID IT AGAIN! So here are the top 8 reasons why EVERYONE needs to watch this movie:

1. Eddie Redmayne's brilliant performance of Newt Scamander.

With the slight limping and that neurotic eye contact, Redmayne nailed the part playing a shy, introvert quirk that would rather deal with animals than humans.

2. Niffler the all-time cutest thief.

Seriously, who could resist that little ball of fur?

3. The magic remains.

Like all other Harry Potter movies, Fantastic Beasts has flawless special effects that immediately put you in that magic realm.

4. J.K.Rowling-styled humor.

"In my philosophy, worry means you suffer twice."

5. The heartwarming relationship between Newt and Bowtruckle.


How I wish I could have one of these little guys in my pocket.

6. The hilarious Erumpent mating dance.

I laughed so hard that I cried. LITERALLY.

7. The well-developed, intense "cursed child" story.

Sets Fantastic Beasts apart from the other clichéd likes of it.

8. References back to the original Harry Potter series.

As many of you probably already know, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scadamer is a textbook mentioned in the Harry Potter series. Also, Newt used to study in Hogwarts until he got expelled though Dumbledore defended him. These connections are a blessing for diehard Potterheads.
