8 Reasons to LOVE Motionless In White
Travis Shinn

1. Motionless In White put on a memorable show

Their live stage presence is absolutely unbelievable. Every single time I have seen them live it has taken my breath away. They sound incredible and live up to expectations beyond belief, it is not surprise they were named Alternative Press' best live band of 2015.

2. The "Infamous" Electric City and home of the office is where they are from.

Yes, Motionless In White hail from Scranton Pennsylvania and take pride in it. Their most recent single "570" is a great example of this. In my last article I wrote about the influence of your hometown and in every way Scranton has shaped what Motionless In White are. It is because of where they came from they are who they are.

3. They LOVE their fans.

Motionless show a real appreciation for their fans in person and over social media. They are always open to meeting people and answering questions when they have a chance. Their latest music video for the song "570" features fans which must have been such n incredible opportunity for the people who got to take part. Unfortunately it is hard for people to sometimes understand that after shows they may not always have the time to take pictures or sign things but Motionless have been always made an effort to show they value the people who support them.

4. As fans we LOVE them.

I've seen Motionless In White live eight times and at almost every show I recognize some people. Over the past four years I've met people online, at shows and even just in real life who share the same admiration for Motionless. Their music is really something special and I'm glad I've made the connections with people I have because of it.

5. They show support for the LGBTQ scene and anyone who embraces being different.

Most people on the alternative scene show support for MANY significant causes but Motionless really go out of their way to show they support their fans no matter what. It's important that they support things like gay rights for their fans who may not get that support. Knowing that their idols back them up could be what helps them get through it.

6. For them Halloween is basically everyday.

There is no denying that Halloween is the greatest holiday that exists. Candy, fall weather, spooky things, I mean, what more could someone else want? Motionless In White have almost a Halloween theme to their music. From makeup to so far as costumes they take the Halloween theme seriously. Their dark and edgy take to metal-core has diversified them as an act and is honestly, awesome.

7. They aren't afraid to be them-selves.

Like reasons 5 & 6 Motionless In White clearly are out to do their own thing and not conform to what most bands on the metal scene are like. Ever since they started in 2006 Motionless' sound has been evolving and changing which has been a topic of controversy among fans who were not pleased especially with the release of the 2012 full length Infamous. If music stayed the same it wouldn't be interesting.

8. They are self-made.

It's not easy starting a band and writing music but it is a dream a lot of people chase, some successfully but many people don't make it. In the course of ten years Motionless In White went from being a local Pennsylvania band to touring with artists like Korn, Slipknot, and getting a record deal with Road Runner Records. As far as they have come I can't wait to see whats next.

This band will always mean the world to me. Thank you for reading.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
