First off, college students do NOT forget about Thanksgiving for multiple reasons: break, family, and some time away from the roommates. Actually, most of us look forward to it and here is the reasons why.

1. Long Weekend To De-stress

Being able to take a mini break from schoolwork is something we all need before the fall semester comes to an end and the stress for finals begins to take over our lives.

2. Being Reunited With Your Furbaby(s)

The moment you pull into your driveway and your pets hear your voice, their whole world lights up, as does yours. No more looking at pictures on Instagram, you get to hold them in your arms! Your pets can be the highlight of your Snapchat Story once again!

3. Home Cooked Meals

This is my favorite thing about going home! FOOD. Mom and Nana's food to be exact. We are all sick of eating dining hall food or dorm food because it all begins to taste the same. Nothing beats family food because let's be real, you have been dreaming of your Grandmother's Pumpkin Pie sense Fall Break. And you will bring all the leftovers back to college with you to feast on for another week.

4. Being Around Family

You know you have missed all of them terribly, even if you are not willing to admit it. It's okay, we all miss our parents and siblings. And there is no feeling than being around all you family at once. It makes you feel that you really belong, if when you don't.

5. Sleeping In Your Own Bed

There is no feeling like resting your head on your own pillow. Yes you have gotten use to your home away from home bed, but let's face it, there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed. It's the best nights sleep you are going to have until Christmas break, especially after finals.

6. Black Friday Shopping

Yes I know, the lines and crowds are going to be horrible to fight because the deals are going to be so good and worth it. If you are like me, you will have tons of laughs throughout the night.

7. Mom Does Your Laundry

Yay! No more fighting to get a washer or dryer. Or re-wearing dirty clothes (you know we all do it) Plus, you will save money! There is nothing like your mom washing your clothes because it smells like home.

8. You Love The Feeling Of Being Home In General

After being gone for such a long time, you really have learn to love and appreciate your hometown. Whenever you go home, you begin to notice the little things you have missed the most and why you love it so much.

I hope everyone is pumped for THANKSGIVING like me. Let the countdown begin! And do not forget to gobble til' you wobble!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
