1. She buys you things.
You are her baby and she wants to make you happy. I mean what other time of the year does she get to buy you an excessive amount of Lilly, Kate Spade and any of your other favorite designers? Christmas? Summer? Anytime you are home? Probably. But Mom's weekend is a special occasion, she gets to do all this and while wearing your mom's weekend shirt.
2. You get to sleep in a big bed again.
Sleeping in a twin XL is fun, for like one night. But nothing compares to that big bed at your mom's hotel where you get so spread out an take up as much room as possible, and not risk falling out. Also, it doesn't hurt that the mattress is not rock hard at the hotel either.
3. She gets to meet all your friends…and sisters.
She might think she knows your sisters, but I am talking about your sorority sisters. It's a different type of sisterhood and she finally gets to see it! Also she finally gets to meet all of your friends you have been talking endlessly about when you talk on the phone, and meet their moms—who have hear the same endless chatter about you.
4. She's not just a regular mom…she's a cool mom.
You finally get to see your mom in a different light. Long gone are the days where she made your dinner and kissed your “boo-boos." Instead you are watching the woman across from you down two cranberry vodkas without batting an eye, leaving you thinking, “She has probably done this before."
5. The apparel you get.
Mom's weekend sweatshirts and T-Shirts are always my favorite. Your mom will wear your letters proudly. So much so you might even think she was once a member for your sorority—I mean hey, she might have been.
6. You get to eat real food.
By this I mean that for a short while you get to escape the pain of eating food from the closest dining hall. Your mom will take you to dinner at a nice restaurant and lets you pick anything from the menu—not that you wouldn't do this other wise, but it's a nice feeling! This is probably the best meal you have had all semester so you are going to enjoy every last bite.
7. You get to show her how your weekend works.
Aka: Day Drinking, Night Drinking, every minute of every hour with friends. She gets to see how the other half lives, meaning she gets to see why your bank account is always empty. Mom's weekend is one where she gets the tab, and you get to sit back and enjoy.
8. You get to see your mom.
At the end of the day, this is all that matters. You finally get to see your number one best friend after months of phone calls and Skype's. Seeing your mom is the best feeling in the world, if only it could last longer than three days.
